Laser Dentistry

The laser is a revolutionary surgical tool that is at the cutting-edge of dental technology. The safety and control that lasers provide will allow your dentist to perform precise procedures and minimise the risk of any unwanted trauma. Most importantly, laser procedures often have greatly reduced pain and swelling, meaning a faster and more comfortable recovery period.

The following are an example of some of the laser procedures that we perform:

Gingivectomy (Gum Lift)

If you feel that your front teeth look too short, or that you show too much gum when you smile, then you may have what is known as a 'gummy smile'. While there are a number of different causes for this appearance, the most common reason is due to excess gum tissue. Thankfully though, we can quickly and easily remove the excess gum tissue using our dental laser with minimal postoperative discomfort. This results in an immediate improvement in the appearance of your smile without the need for fillings, veneers or crowns.

Frenectomy

Patients whose lip is attached too close to the teeth will often experience unnecessary gum problems over time, such as recession and dental sensitivity. However these problems can be easily prevented by repositioning this attachment further away from the teeth and minimising the need for expensive treatment later on.

Aphthous Ulcers (Canker Sores)

Laser treatment of apthous ulcers is simple, easy and painless. The problem is treated before the ulcer develops, preventing unnecessary pain and discomfort in only a few minutes.
